On April 10, Due to the negligence of officials of Reliance #Sasan Ultra Mega Power Project #Singrauli Flyash Dyke breached, resultantly 6 persons including 3 minor children died & hundreds of cattle swept away & died. The bodies of victims recovered after so many days. Houses of villagers, standing Crop swept away in the ash slurry & Toxic Residue of Lakhs of Matric Ton. The said slurry contaminated the only drinking water body of the area called “ #RihandReservoir” which is lifeline of 30 Lakh People.
It is very unfortunate that despite repeated notices issued from Pollution Control Board, National Green Tribunal & District Administration to repair the damaged ash Dyke & also direction to stop storing further #Flyash, Toxic in the Dyke, the CEO of #Reliance Power Ltd & others overlooked the damage & kept throwing the same without fixing the problem. And resultantly, the ash dyke breached & many died, cattle swept away, houses destroyed, poultry farm etc swept away & lakhs of MT toxic residue, sewage travelled in the Rihand Sagar & contaminated the only water body for survival of 30 lakhs people.
Students, youth, common man protesting & demanding action & showing their anguish through posters, banners, writing on social media demanding criminal #FIR against the CEO & other responsible officials of #Reliance_Power_Ltd being prima facie responsible for the death of innocent villagers.
Due to #Covid19 Pandemic there is complete lockdown, hence people of the area symbolically protesting on social media by writing slogans, sharing posters, banners demanding action against the culprit. Interesting is that a highly polluted plant is running still generating ash. No action at all.
Today is 15th day of the said incident & despite the complaints filed by villagers the local administration has not registered any FIR for culpable homicide against the CEO & all as the said unfortunate incident occurred because of the criminal intent of Aforementioned officials.
